Phoenix Spring Honorary Pit Crew Members

Fred F. Hules

CORNELIUS, N.C. – Fred represents Tech 1 and is a new AutoCare member – coming from a long time account with Tech Net. He is “all in” with his conversion to NAPA and attends BDG meetings and plans to become a member.

How has this day been for you? “It’s been really cool. I’ve been in the pits before but not in the garage.”

What are some of the things you’ve really enjoyed experiencing? “I got to go through the hauler and saw all the parts that the team carries with them for a race weekend. It’s amazing. I also enjoyed talking to the crew members and I especially enjoyed meeting the team’s shock specialist. He took the time to explain to me what he was doing and how he builds shocks. I really appreciated it. It was a lot of fun.

“I also enjoyed meeting Eric Maycroft. He’s a tire changer on the NAPA team. He actually showed us around yesterday because we decided to take advantage of having garage passes. We came yesterday too. We took advantage of this awesome experience.”

How has NAPA been a great partner to your business? “The relationship with NAPA has been big. What a partnership! I kind of got involved with NAPA through a friend of mine. He owns another shop. I just wanted to be a part of it. NAPA not only provides us with quality parts, but I also appreciate all the community service that NAPA does. It means a lot to me to be associated with a company that helps me give back to my community.

“On Thursday, I met Martin Truex Jr. when he helped me and 19 other NAPA AutoCare Centers launch our NAPA Cares program. I am a part of the Business Development Group here in Phoenix and I appreciate Martin helping us raise awareness. It was really cool to see him mention our program on SPEED during Friday’s practice. I hope we can help a lot of deserving families get their cars repaired.”

What did you think when you saw your name on the car? “I heard my name was going to be on Martin’s race car. It’s so awesome to actually see it. I took a photo and it’s now on my Facebook page. The race hasn’t even started and all my friends have seen it. This whole program is cool.”
